A conversation with Sarah

The following is a conversation Sarah & I had on the way home from school today. I was telling her that I had to take the Dynamic Duo (Bo & Luke) in for a check-up tomorrow so they would stay healthy and be with us for a long time.

Me: "It's important for them to have check-ups, just like we do, so they will be healthy."

Sarah: "When I grow up, I'm going to be a doctor so I can end cancer."

Me: "Wow! You're going to cure cancer? That's wonderful!"

Sarah: "Yeah, and do you know what I'm going to do with the money I make when I cure it?"

Me: "No, what are you going to do with the money?"

Sarah: "Well, I'm going to save half of it (that's my girl!) and with the rest of it I'm going to buy toys for me and Emily. I'll also buy you a latte and Daddy a steak...or maybe some ribs or chicken fingers. He really likes those things."

I should also note that further into the conversation she mentioned having a house close to ours and doing her own grocery shopping. :-)

So cute!

Another cute pic of Emily from our shopping adventures. How can you have a bad day when you've got this to keep you smiling?

She's Got Personality

I wanted to share a couple quick pictures of Emily. She is almost 18 months now and quite the ham. Her personality is developing more and more each day and she is starting to understand things better which is making communicating a bit easier. She loves to laugh and seems to know when she's done something funny...or at least funny to her. :-)

We were going through boxes of Sarah's old clothes over the weekend and Emily loved "trying on" just about everything we pulled out. She knew the hat went on her head and the shoes on her feet...too bad she didn't realize that snow boots don't really work with a sun bonnet.

Here is one of my new favorites! Emily found Sarah's old goggles earlier today and insisted on putting them on. As soon as she had them on, she looked at the camera sitting on the counter and started to smile. Seriously!! :-)

P.S. I have no good explanation for why she is just in socks and a diaper! :-)

Santa Pics

Today we took the girls to see Santa so they could give him a few last minute gift ideas. Sarah was very excited to see him which made it difficult to get a good picture of her because she didn't stop talking the whole time we were there. :-) Emily on the other hand was NOT a fan of jolly Ol' St. Nick and couldn't get out of there fast enough. We finally managed to get her to calm down long enough though to get one decent picture.

Not sure why Sarah is posing in this picture, but you can tell Emily was not happy.

We had to go for a more "posed" picture where Sarah wasn't talking about her long list of gift ideas. :-)

Not happy!

A few recent pics...

I was going through the photos on my phone earlier today and found a few that I thought we be cute to share. There's never a dull moment around here! :-)

Enjoy!

Our little diva

Who doesn't love the doughnut shop?

Do you want fries with that?

We always knew this child had crazy hair, but this takes the cake!

Our Little Dare Devil

I know I'm extremely overdue with posting lately and I have a lot to catch everyone up one, but for now, I just had to share these pictures of Sarah I took a couple of weeks ago. This was one afternoon when it was still relatively warm outside (for Indiana) and we were trying to run off some energy. Sarah loves riding her plasma car and has discovered how much fun it is to ride it full tilt down the driveway. The good news is our driveway isn't too terribly steep AND we live on a cul-de-sac. :-) I'm not sure what prompted the outfit, but I've learned it's sometimes better not to ask too many questions. At least she had fun and didn't get hurt.

Note: Her outfit consists of pajamas, winter gloves, a light weight fleece coat, stocking cap and a scuba mask.

The action shot. Not even halfway down the driveway and the scuba mask is off!

Success!!

These heels were made for walkin'...

Last Saturday, Steve accepted the local YWCA's Red Shoe Challenge and participated in their annual Men's March to end violence towards women. He walked with a group of his friends from South Bend and together they did a wonderful job of raising awareness for this most worthwhile cause.

Thank you to everyone who supported Steve! He was the highest contributor for his team which I know meant a lot to him and the money donated will help a lot of women in our community.

Now, for just a little bit of fun. I think most of you have probably seen this picture, but we did promise visual proof of him in heels to anyone contributing to the cause! Here ya go...Enjoy!!
