Sarah's First Set of Wheels

Sarah is finally getting the hang of riding her new tricycle all by herself so I thought I would share a short video of her. It's taken some work, but she can get going all by herself and seems to keep her feet on the pedals.

My apologies if the video seems a bit shaky. It was tough to keep up with her and keep the camera still at the same time. And yes, she's still in her pajamas and no, she's not wearing any shoes! :-) Who needs such things when there's fun to be had!

Ah, Home Ownership!

For two years now, Steve & I have been talking about doing some landscaping around the house but it seemed to keep getting pushed further & further down the "to do" list. It seems a lot of things have been pushed down that list since Sarah arrived, but I guess that's only natural. :-) A couple of weekends ago Steve decided it was time to get to work and he was like a man on a mission! I believe his exact words were "It may take me a long time to get motivated, but when I do, watch out!" :-) Let me just say that truer words have never been spoken! He decided to get to work about noon on Saturday and by Sunday evening he was done and it looks great! We're still working on getting some more plants in for some more color, but it's a great start and certainly better than what we had! Good job Sweetie!

Here are a few of the before photos...

I love my husband! This was his response when I asked how hard it would be to get rid of the concrete slab. I guess it wasn't too hard after all! :-)

Sarah even wanted to help out!

Here is the end result!

Singing Sarah

Okay, so we're going to take a minute and be "those parents" who brag about how smart their child is so we hope you will indulge us. :-) Sarah has been counting from 1-10 for a few weeks now, but she's starting to work on 1-20 and is pretty darn close. She's also mastered her ABC's for which we are super excited! This is huge because just a few short weeks ago her alphabet consisted of A, B, C, D, Y, & Z. :-)

Here are a few videos of her singing & counting for you. Enjoy!

Trifecta

And so the sports extravaganza continues...this past weekend Steve traveled to Virginia for Saturday's NASCAR race at Richmond International Speedway. NIBCO was the hood sponsor which was a pretty big deal and made it even more exciting. He was also excited because Erik lives in Richmond and he was able to see Meg, Landen, Kate and meet Cohen for the first time. As usual, luck was on his side and he was able to score a couple of pit passes which gave them access to just about anything at the track. That being said, he watched the first 90 laps of the race in the pit tower behind the team owner, crew chief and race engineer. For everyone else's benefit, I've tried to keep the photos of tires, tool boxes, and air wrenches to a minimum. :-) He had a great time though and I'm so glad he was able to make the trip.

Here are a few photos from the race, but please check the slide show on the right hand side for more. You can also visit the official race team photo page for more pictures. The link is listed below.
