Our Little Diva

Like most little girls, Sarah has recently started to enjoy playing dress up! This is only part of the outfit, but here she is in her shades and new tutu...too cute! :-)

Congratulations Steve!

Steve made the recent issue of "NIBNews," NIBCO's monthly newsletter for his recent promotion so I thought I would pass the article along. I'm so proud of Steve and his accomplishment and thought I would share the good news! Congratulations Sweetie!

Gone Fishin'

Who knew that the Disney Princess pole from Target would actually work? Sarah was so proud of herself and her catch! Check it out!

Sarah's first fish!

Okay, time to put this guy back in the water!

Summer Fun

Sarah has started to play a lot more with the kids next door which has been great. She is the youngest of the group, but she certainly doesn't let that stop her.

Here are a couple of pictures of her swinging with her new friend Anna.

I thought this was cute. Here is one of Sarah in the hammock with Sam. Do you think Steve & I need to be worried?

Outer Banks 2009

We recently took a mini-vacation to the Outer Banks with my side of the family and had a great time! The Aldridge gang has been getting together for years now for these little "get aways", but this was the first chance we've had to be able to join them. It was wonderful to see everyone and just spend a few days relaxing. The extra help with Sarah was great too and allowed Steve & myself to get away and spend some time together. We actually celebrated our 6 year anniversary while we were down there with a nice quiet dinner on the water.

As for Sarah, she LOVED going to the beach with her Pappy...even if it was a little too cold to get in the water. She also started to enjoy the bike rides we took her on, especially when a trip to the ice cream shop was involved. :-) I'm happy to say too that she's becoming a champion puzzle worker which is a requirement for survival in the Aldridge family. My grandmother loves to work her puzzles and she seemed to hold court each day at the dining room table with the puzzle (or puzzles) of the day. :-) Mee Maw working her puzzles is one of my fondest childhood memories so it meant a lot to me to be able to spend some quiet time with her each day working on these and then to see Sarah doing it too really made me smile.

There are too many pictures to post everything we did, but I've added most of these to the slideshow on the right. Please take a minute to look at them if you'd like. Here are a few highlights though. Enjoy!

Yeah, that was some good ice cream!

I talked Steve into going crabbing with me on our anniversary and we actually caught a few! Here I am with two of my catches!

What a cutie! Here's Sarah geared up for her first bike ride into Duck.

The Gang!

Which way to the beach?

Happy Anniversary Sweetie! :-)

Four Generations...Amazing!

Good Friends

On our way to the Outer Banks a couple of weeks ago we stopped to visit some friends in Richmond. Erik & Meg are two of our closest friends and a big reason why our leaving Virginia was so hard. We try to stay in touch as best we can, but it's always nice to get together. Steve has actually seen Erik quite a bit recently between the Final Four and the Richmond race, but this was the first time I'd seen Meg in over a year as well as their three children. In fact, the last time we saw their youngest son, Cohen, he was 5 weeks old! He's grown quite a bit since then and is quite the ham. :-) Thank you Helsley's for a wonderful visit! We hope to see all of you again soon!

Here are a few pictures of the kids. I didn't realize until I was looking at these earlier that we don't have any of the grown-ups, but let's face it, the kids are cuter anyway. :-) Enjoy!

Chef Sarah!

Cohen loves to dance...I think he gets his moves from his dad though!

The girls...Kate & Sarah...getting ready to head to the playground.

We think they were having a good time. :-)
