Daddy, Can I Have A...

Chick...

Or maybe a rabbit...

How about a pony? :-)

Sarah & I are in Virginia right now visiting family so we decided to do a little strawberry pickin' last Saturday. There is a local strawberry "festival" every year over Memorial Day weekend which includes various moon bounces, pony rides, a petting zoo, and even a flat-footin' contest.

Sarah did pretty well with the moon bounce and pony ride, but she absolutely LOVED the petting zoo! Her favorite was the area with the smaller animals where she got to hold a baby chick, a 6-week old kitten, and even a baby rabbit. She knew no fear either as she reached in and picked up each rabbit one by one and then made over them like crazy. :-)

The strawberry picking was fun too and Sarah had the best time trying to fill her bucket. It was a hot and tiring day, but a lot of fun too! Of course, the strawberry freezer jam we made is pretty good too. :-)

If she ends up with a chicken....Jacob can give her some pointers :)

I see a real cowgirl there on that pony. Maybe she'll settle for a new little sibling instead of a chicken, rabbit or pony.

Thinking we have a budding outdoors girl or a possible veterinarian. We do know that she loves baby animals.
Glad you are having fun. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Grandpa noticed that Daddy said "no" to the baby chickens and baby rabbits but didn't mention the pony. A pony would be a nice compliment to the kitten and the new baby brother or sister. Looks like you guys are having a good time. We miss you both and can't wait to see you again and hear Sarah tell us all about her trip. See you soon.

Can we keep the new pony at Grams & Grandpa's house? You guys have plenty of room! :-)
