Florida Trip - Day 2

After playing in the sand for a bit in the morning, we took Sarah to the Imaginarium in Ft. Myers for some fun. This is a really neat hands on museum & aquarium for kids where she got to pet some really cool animals, feed a sting ray, and even try her hand at being a meterologist. She had a ball with everything and surprisingly showed no fear when it came to the "hands on" part of the aquarium and animal lab. She must have gotten that character trait from Daddy because I personally had goosebumps. :-)

Below are pictures from the second day of our trip. More pictures can be seen in the slide show on the right hand side. Enjoy! :-)

Florida Trip - Day 1

As many of you know, Steve has been traveling a lot lately with work which has left me at home with the girls. Thanks to this as well as a couple of feet of snow and temps in the teens, I decided to take the girls and head to Florida for a couple of days. Steve's parents & his grandma decided to be snowbirds this winter and are vacationing in Ft. Myers Beach, Florida for 6 weeks so we decided to come down for a visit. :-)

Although still a little cool at times...mid to high 60's...the weather has been great and is a wonderful change from what we're use to this time of year. The girls did wonderfully on the flight down and Sarah has been having a ball playing in the sand and picking up sea shells. She's been up every morning before 7am because she's so excited to go walking on the beach with her Grandpa. They've gone each day and have come back with some pretty cool finds! She's also desperately trying to go swimming, but we're also desperately trying to distract her since it's just not THAT warm. :-)

Below are a few pictures from our first day on the beach. Enjoy!

Emily tries cereal

Emily had her first taste of baby cereal over the weekend and seemed less than impressed with "big people food." She actually did pretty well on Sunday when we got started, but all subsequent attempts have met with stiff lips and a turned head. :-) I'm sure she'll get the hang of things soon enough though.

Here are some pictures from Sunday. Enjoy!

Emily's first bite of cereal.

Of course Sarah had to lend a hand. :-)

"Daddy, put the camera down and get me out of here!"

Fun in the Snow

Last Saturday we took Sarah tubing at Wilson Park. This was her first time doing anything like this so we were really excited to see how she would do. I'm happy to report she had a ball and would shout "again, again" every time we reached the bottom of the hill. :-) This was easier said than done however since Steve ended up carrying her up the hill most of the time. It was so much fun to hear her squeal with laughter each time she came down though so it was definitely worth it.

Here are a couple of pics from our day.

Emily at Five Months

It's hard to believe, but Emily turned 5 months old on Thursday. Thanks to the holidays, this month went really quickly but we wanted to be sure to get her latest pictures up. :-) She is growing and changing so quickly and it's amazing to watch what she can do with each passing day.

At her 4 1/2 month appointment a couple of weeks ago she weighed 13 lbs., 6 oz., and was 26 1/4" long. As our pediatrician put it, she's long and lean. :-) She easily into 6 month clothes now due more to her length than anything else.

She's still working on rolling over from her back to her belly, but she has mastered the art of putting her toes in her mouth. Changing her diaper is getting to be more and more of a challenge these days as she likes to just lay there and play with her toes. :-) She loves to be held (not necessarily a good thing when trying to get her to sleep), but for the most part she's a happy baby and loves to snuggle.

Here are a couple of recent pictures. I promise to have Christmas pictures up soon too so be sure to check back. :-)
